FNF'S NEW CEO

Families Needs Fathers is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Pickering as our new CEO.

Craig has had a varied career. He spent 18 years in the Treasury. He was a diplomat for several years. He has been a University lecturer, including two years at the London Business School, and has been an independent consultant since 2000. He is married with four children and two rabbits.

Craig (pictured) said "I am delighted to be joining this charity at such a crucial time. Shared Parenting is high on the political agenda and there is a growing public debate. There is abundant evidence that children do better if both parents stay in the child's life following separation or divorce, and the family law and support services need to recognise that. Families Need Fathers provide an invaluable service to separated families and it is important that we build on the 'big society' support we provide throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland."

SPONSORED EVENTS

FNF has just launched a new Fundraising Events section on its website(http://www.fnf.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising). This has come as a result of increasing interest in members of the public as well as FNF members raising money through sponsored events. We have had committed individuals running international marathons and half marathons, as well as cycle rides and mountain climbs. Coming soon, we have participants in the Dublin Marathon, the Great Northern Run - as well as a rather brave bunch of gentlemen doing a sponsored full body wax!

If you would like to get involved in any of these (although we're not expecting any more takers for the waxing!), or are looking for some fundraising ideas, please look at the Calendar of Events up on the website now.

AGM/VOLUNTEERS' CONFERENCE 2010

The events will be from Friday 17th September to Sunday 19th September at the Nettle Hill Centre near Coventry. The AGM will take place at 10.00am on Sunday 19th. The address is Nettle Hill Training & Conference Centre, Brinklow Road, Ansty, Coventry, CV7 9JL.

Everybody wishing to attend must register in advance, so that we know the numbers for catering and accommodation. If you have not received the booking form contact Andrew Casey at admin@fnf.org.uk or on 0300 0300 110.

There are a few beds available in shared 3 or 5 bed rooms at the conference centre. You may prefer to stay at local hotels or with friends/relatives. If you need accommodation for either Friday, Saturday night or both, please state this on the form.
